Liposuction is a surgical procedure done to remove body fat and contour your body. Even though liposuction eliminates fat, it isn’t meant to be a substitute for natural and healthy weight loss.
Instead, you can get liposuction to reduce stubborn fat that remains despite a healthy diet and exercise. Liposuction can improve your body shape and give you more muscle definition in the areas you choose to target.
Liposuction permanently removes fat cells. However, you need to continue following a healthy lifestyle in order to keep your body looking the way it does. Your body will look firmer and have sleeker contours than your pre-treatment figure.
There are different kinds of liposuction available depending on the part of the body you want to improve and the type you would like. This includes simply getting liposuction by itself, or combining it with fat transfer, in which you will use the fat from your body for another body enhancement procedure. At Renuance Cosmetic Surgery Center, the team can use your fat for treating wrinkles or adding volume.
You can opt to use the fat from your liposuction procedure as a form of dermal filler. Your surgeon prepares the fat cells and injects them strategically to boost volume in your lips or cheeks or to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.Learn More

Liposuction is considered an outpatient procedure and you should be able to return home the same day. Your procedure begins when you are placed under sedation or general anesthesia.
During the surgery, your surgeon loosens and breaks apart the fat cells in the area you want to target through a small incision in your skin. Then, they suction out your fat using a hollow tube called a cannula connected to a vacuum device. Once the doctor has completed this, the fat will either be disposed of or used in another procedure, such as fat transfer.
The experts at Renuance Cosmetic Surgery Center can perform liposuction on several different areas of your body. There are different techniques available to achieve the best results for you and your individual cosmetic needs.
Laser-Assisted Liposuction (LAL)
As the name implies, this procedure uses a laser to break down your fat before it’s removed. The doctor will make a tiny incision to the target area and insert the cannula.
Power-Assisted Liposuction (PAL)
This procedure involves the insertion of the cannula, which is then quickly moved back and forth. This vibration breaks apart stubborn fats and can be a helpful technique if you’re removed a large amount of fat or have previously had liposuction.
This is the most common liposuction technique. In it, your target area is injected with a sterile solution. The area will begin to swell and the fat stiffens. The surgeon then makes a tiny incision to insert the cannula, which is then connected to a vacuum that suctions out fat cells.
Ultrasound-Assisted Liposuction (UAL)
This technique uses a metal rod that’s inserted under your skin. It then emits ultrasound waves, which will break down your fat for easier extraction. This procedure is often combined with tumescent lipo.
You will likely not be able to see the true results of your procedure right after.
You might also feel like you’ve gained weight or simply look bigger than expected. This is because swelling and possible fluid retention can make you look bloated. This will improve over time as your swelling decreases, allowing you to see results. It is also possible that your skin will start to look loose wherever you had your liposuction. This skin can become firmer over time.
However, liposuction can remove up to 10 pounds of fat cells during a procedure, so you may want to consider surgery or another procedure such as body contouring to tighten your skin. Your age may also play a factor in how you recover. Your final results can take as long as three months to become fully visible, leading to a slimmer profile and/or body proportions. This can restore your confidence and help you rediscover a happier you.
Recovery will vary depending on which kind of liposuction you have, or if you combine it with other procedures.
After the surgery, you are taken to a recovery room to wake up. You will also be monitored to make sure there are no expected complications from the surgery. Generally speaking, there will be swelling and bruising. You will need to stay home up to ten days before you should return to work, school, and/or other obligations. It may take another two to five weeks for swelling to completely subside and for you to return to your normal activities.

If you are unhappy with areas of fat on your body and face, liposuction can give you the results you’re looking for. In general, you should have good elasticity and skin tone, which will let your skin be reshaped into new contours. Without good elasticity, your skin may become loose after your procedure.
If you are interested in getting liposuction, book a consultation with the Renuance Cosmetic Surgery Center to make sure you are eligible for the surgery. Generally speaking, good liposuction candidates are at least 18 years old and in generally good health.
Our Temecula Liposuction is often done in combination with other cosmetic and medical procedures, making the cost vary with each patient. If your liposuction is necessary for medical purposes, then your insurance should cover the cost. However, most liposuction is elective and therefore not covered. In this case, the Renuance Cosmetic Surgery Center offers financing and payment options, which you can discuss during your consultation.
You will be under general anesthesia or sedation for the procedure, so you won’t feel anything during the operation. After you wake up, you will notice bruising, soreness, swelling, and mild-to-moderate pain. You can receive a prescription for pain medication, or take over-the-counter pain relievers as directed by the doctor.
