Reverse The Signs of Aging

If you are unhappy or dissatisfied with wrinkles forming around your lips and growing smile lines, you may want to consider Restylane to reverse these signs of aging. Restylane can help restore volume to your lips and cheeks, helping revitalize your face and raise your self-esteem. At Renuance Cosmetic Surgery & MedSpa in Temecula Restylane is one of the many cosmetic techniques we specialize in to help you achieve your cosmetic goals.

What Is Restylane?

Restylane is an FDA-approved dermal filler with a specific focus on your lips and cheeks. Made of a substance called Hyaluronic Acid (HA), it is injected into your skin where the HA can bind itself to the water molecules there.

This increases hydration in your skin, restoring volume which then fills in lines and wrinkles on your face. When you meet for your consultation, you can discuss what changes you’d like, and board-certified plastic surgeons can recommend a customized plan for your needs.

Types of Restylane

Renuance Cosmetic Surgery & MedSpa offers two kinds of Restylane:

Restylane Defyne

Defyne is a dermal filler that targets the nasolabial folds in order to smooth wrinkles or smile lines. It is injected under the skin around your cheeks, allowing it to create a younger-looking smile.

Restylane Kysse

Kysse is a dermal filler designed just for your lips. It adds volume to your lips, as well as enhances their texture and color. In doing so, your lips become fuller, reducing wrinkles and lines.

Restylane Contour

Restylane Contour differs from other Restylane fillers in that it is specifically formulated with XpresHAn Technology to provide more robust structural support, making it ideal for contouring and enhancing facial features such as the cheeks and chin, whereas other Restylane fillers may be better suited for addressing fine lines and wrinkles or adding subtle volume to the lips.

Restylane Lyft

Restylane Lyft differs from other Restylane fillers in that it is specifically designed to add lift and volume to the cheeks and hands, as well as smooth moderate to severe wrinkles and folds in the face. It contains a larger particle size hyaluronic acid gel, making it a more robust filler for addressing deeper wrinkles and providing longer-lasting results compared to other Restylane products.

Restylane Refyne

Restylane Refyne differs from other Restylane fillers in that it is specially formulated with XpresHAn Technology to provide a more natural, flexible, and subtle enhancement to the face, making it ideal for treating fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth area, commonly referred to as "laugh lines." It is made with a unique cross-linking technology that allows for a soft, natural look while maintaining the ability to move with facial expressions.

The Benefits of Restylane

When we age, our bodies begin to produce less HA and collagen proteins. Both of these are necessary for maintaining full, flexible skin that is generally associated with a younger appearance.

As our production of these slows down, our skin then begins to wrinkle, sag, or both, causing your face to lose volume and age. There are also other factors at play, such as genetics, the environment, and stress - all of which can negatively affect the aging process. As a dermal filler, Restylane can reduce these lines and wrinkles by stimulating your body to increase its production of collagen and HA. This slows the loss of facial volume, which rejuvenates your skin and restores a more youthful appearance to your features.

The Restylane Procedure

Restylane comes in the form of an injectable filler applied through a syringe. Restylane injections are a quick, easy procedure that usually takes less than an hour from start to finish.

The doctor will start by using a topical analgesic to numb your target area. As that begins to take effect, the doctor will prepare the syringe for your Restylane injection. The doctor will then complete the injection(s) in your lips, cheeks, or both.

Restylane also comes with lidocaine inside of it, which further reduces sensation from the injections. With each injection, there is more lidocaine, numbing you even more. Once your injections are complete, the doctor may apply ice to reduce any bruising, bleeding, or swelling that can occur.

Recovery After Restylane Treatment

After receiving injections of Restylane Temecula patients are advised to avoid touching the area for at least six hours. After that, wash with soap and water, then apply cold compresses.

This reduces swelling and the severity of bruising. It’s also important to avoid extreme cold or excessive sunlight. Makeup should also not be worn for a few days. It can take up to a week for swelling to fade in your smile lines, and three weeks for swelling to completely go down in your lips due to their sensitive tissue.

Results of Restylane

This dermal filler is designed to fill in wrinkles along your lips, smile lines, and cheek in the most efficient way possible. As a result, you will notice results immediately after your injections as the change in volume is instantly observable. The complete effects will become fully visible up to two weeks after your injections when the swelling and bruising are gone.

Restylane FAQ

Restylane works best on restoring volume to the lips, cheeks, and smile lines. If you would like to reduce these signs of aging, then a dermal filler such as Restylane may produce the best results for you. Restylane is also the only FDA-approved filler currently available that targets these specific parts of your face.

Although the injection itself may sting, there should be little to no pain. After the injections are complete, there may be bruising, redness, swelling, headache, itching, and possible lump formation. These are normally mild symptoms and not every patient experiences all of them. You can take over-the-counter pain relievers to treat these if necessary.

The Restylane procedure is accomplished entirely through injections, so there will not be any scarring. You can experience bruising at the site of your injections, but these will fade within a week or two. Note that some people cover their already-present acne scars with Restylane.

Restylane is considered an elective cosmetic procedure. As such, insurance providers do not normally cover the injections and you will need to pay out of pocket. If needed, there are also financing and payment options available.

If you are interested in receiving Restylane injections, Renuance Cosmetic Surgery & MedSpa requires that you meet for a consultation before scheduling any cosmetic procedures to establish your eligibility. Generally speaking, the best candidates for our Temecula Restylane treatments are in good health, nonsmokers, and at least 21 years old.
