Your Thermage Procedure
When you meet with Dr. Eichenberg in Murrieta for Thermage, he will evaluate your skin prior to performing your non-surgical treatment, which involves no injections. Women ages 35 to 60 typically have the best and most predictable results. If your skin is too lax, the results will not be as dramatic.
The procedure typically takes 20 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the treatment area. Usually, only 1 treatment is required, and no downtime is involved. General anesthesia is not required, but to make sure you are comfortable, the doctor may offer light pain medications prior to treatment. You'll feel a brief sensation of heat each time Thermage delivers radiofrequency energy to the under layer of your skin. This indicates that your collagen is being stimulated and tightened.
After treatment, your skin may be slightly red for a day or two. Most patients resume their regular activities immediately after treatment, with no recovery time or special follow-up care needed.

How It Works
The facial skin is made up of 3 distinct layers: a visible outer layer on the surface called the epidermis, a collagen-rich under layer beneath the surface called the dermis, and an inner layer beneath the dermis called the subcutaneous layer, also known as the fat layer, which has a web of collagen fibers running through it.
When the collagen in these three layers breaks down because of sun exposure, heredity or the normal aging process, your face begins to sag and wrinkle. Treatments designed to improve only the surface of your skin can't help restore lost collagen. At that point, your skin will benefit from Thermage.
Thermage is the only non-invasive procedure available that tightens and renews your skin's collagen in all three layers. How? Thermage's Capacitive Radiofrequency (CRF) technology safely heats the under layer of your skin and the web of collagen in the inner layer, causing an immediate tightening as well as improved tone and texture.
