Digene Corporation, Research Department (Nov. 2006 – June 2007)
Performed research to help develop a next-generation platform for molecular testing of sexually transmitted diseases in compliance with regulatory, GLP and departmental SOP requirements. Gathered data, performed analyses and presented findings to research directors on a regular basis.

Protein Chemist

American Red Cross, through Kforce staffing agency (Sept. 2004 – Nov. 2005)
Analyzed proteins from human and mouse plasma samples using various Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISAs). Gathered data and compiled daily reports for review by upper management.

Laboratory Assistant

Center for Marine Science (Oct. 2001- May 2004 during the academic year)
Performed DNA extractions on various seagrass species. Amplified DNA using Polymerase Chain Reaction methods, performed agarose gel electrophoresis, and sequenced specific genes using an ABI 3100 Genetic Analyzer. Worked on another project involving Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism research.
